Eishort Marine Engineering established in 1992 offers a full marine engineering service. We offer expanded workshop facilities to accommodate larger vessels for refit and repairs in addition to the building of aluminium craft including catamarans,creel fishing boats, workboats and landing craft.
Eishort Marine Engineering specializes in aluminium boat building but we also undertake most types of aluminium fabrication. We are also able to offer welding and repairs and have a mobile welding workshop for on-site repairs.
The advantage of aluminium hulls is that they are strong, durable and tough which makes them ideal for beaching and enduring the rigours of a rough coastline. Also aluminium requires lower maintenance than a more traditional wooden or fiberglass alternative. Eishort Marine Engineering specialises in custom builds from a bare hull, ready to fit out or building craft to MSA/Seafish requirements.

One example of our work is a high speed Catamaran built in 2004. This craft was designed and fitted by local craftsmen at our new workshop in Broadford and the boat is a concept design built to MCA workboat standard. The craft is multi-role and able to carry 12 persons and crew and at present it is used for creel fishing. (Please see photo gallery for pictures.)
Another example of our work is the Skyejet RIB. This high performance aluminium hulled rigid inflatable boat uses a diesel powered jet drive which offers unparalleled high speed efficiency. The Skyejet is able to turn or stop in the vessels own length and with no propeller it provides exceptional operational safety in shallow water or around divers and marine wildlife.
Finally Eishort Marine Engineering is able to offer boat owners a covered area in our workshops for the repair and maintenance of boats. Vessels up to 15 tons can be lifted and transported for repairs, painting or maintenance etc.
